Welcome to the Gemstones-Loose Topaz Page.

Here we present a sample of the topaz pieces we have available for your selection. Due to its relative hardness, abundance and undisputed beauty, topaz is an ideal gemstone. The most valuable topaz colours are the golden orange-yellow type, called imperial, and the dark pink-red and orange-red colours. Value is determined by the depth of these vibrant and fiery orange and red hues. However, the most commonly used colours of topaz in jewellery are the graduated blue tones.

A point to note is that the commonly occurring topaz is in fact colourless, and it wasn't until relatively recent times that blue topaz became widespread on the gem market. This is so as virtually all blue gem topaz are irradiated and heat treated.

If topaz is for you, and you would like to see some ready-made topaz jewellery pieces, please go to the Pendants/gemstones and Ladies/gemstones Rings Pages to see some examples of the many and varied possibilities.

Remember too, if you live in Melbourne, and would like to see more, please contact us, and we will arrange an appointment for a more comprehensive viewing of all the loose gemstones in our collection.
